The Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) is a unique cooperative, multilateral economic forum that promotes regional economic growth through trade and investment liberalization, facilitation, and capacity building.

Based in Singapore, the APEC Secretariat is seeking a highly skilled Community Outreach Manager to drive outreach and stakeholder engagement, enhance awareness of APEC’s mission, and strengthen relationships with key stakeholders across the Asia-Pacific region.

Responsibilities include:

  • Develop and implement outreach strategies and programs to expand APEC’s visibility and engagement with government officials, business leaders, multilateral organizations, universities, and the public.
  • Produce high-quality outreach materials that communicate APEC’s programs and initiatives effectively, ensuring stakeholders are aware of available resources.
  • Plan, coordinate, and manage events, workshops, and seminars to promote APEC’s mission and enhance community engagement, including liaising with partners, stakeholders, and vendors.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key APEC stakeholders, media representatives, industry partners, policymakers, civil service representatives, and students to foster collaboration and advocacy.
  • Represent APEC professionally in external engagements, ensuring clear, consistent, and credible communication.
  • Plan, coordinate, and execute outreach events
  • Monitor and evaluate outreach activities, collect feedback, and assess impact to identify areas for improvement.

Key Skills and Qualifications:

The successful candidate must be from an APEC member economy and must possess the following:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, International Relations, Economics, Public Policy, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • At least 5 years of experience in communications, stakeholder engagement, community relations, within a multilateral or international organization is a plus.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with high-level stakeholders and partners.
  • Strong event management skills, with experience in planning, coordinating and executing outreach programs.
  • A collaborative and engaging professional with strong diplomatic and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong writing and editing skills for outreach materials, with an eye for compelling design and visual storytelling.
  • Excellent time management skills, with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Sharp analytical skills to interpret data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions to enhance engagement and outreach.
